The short version. Design Day has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Your projects, scans and photographs stay on your iPhone. Nothing about you or the buildings you work in is collected, transmitted or sold.
This policy applies to the Design Day iPhone application published by Tyler Mitchell ("we", "us"). It describes what the app does and does not do with information on your device.
None. The app has no sign-up, no login and no user account. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, customer addresses, job locations, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage analytics or crash telemetry. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind, and does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework because it has nothing to track.
Everything you enter stays in the app's private storage on your iPhone, where only Design Day can read it. That includes:
This data is included in your normal iPhone backup, encrypted under Apple's terms, and is deleted when you delete the project or the app.
The app requests camera access so you can photograph blueprints and scan rooms. Camera frames and depth data are processed on the device to produce room geometry. They are never uploaded, and the app does not request microphone, location, contacts or photo library access.
When you look up equipment by brand or model, the app queries the public
ENERGY STAR Product Finder API at data.energystar.gov, operated
by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and returns the certified
ratings for the equipment you searched. That request contains only the search
terms you typed. It carries no account, no device identifier and no project
data, because the app holds none to send. The connection is standard HTTPS.
If you never open the equipment lookup, the app makes no network requests at
all.
The app also offers a link to the AHRI Directory at
ahridirectory.org. Tapping it opens that site in your browser,
where their privacy practices apply rather than ours.
PDF reports are generated on your device. They are shared only when you choose to share them, through the standard iOS share sheet, to the destination you pick. We never receive a copy. Once you send a report to someone, what happens to it is between you and them.
We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we do not have any. The app bundles no third-party SDKs that collect data. The only outside service it contacts is the U.S. government's ENERGY STAR API described above.
Design Day is a professional tool intended for HVAC contractors and designers. It is not directed at children and knowingly collects no information from anyone, including children under 13.
Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal information a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. The data on your device is under your control: delete a project inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of it. We do not sell personal information and never have.
If you email support, we necessarily receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as a report attached to a bug. That correspondence is used only to answer you and is kept no longer than needed to resolve the issue.
If the app ever gains a feature that changes any of the above — accounts, sync, subscriptions or diagnostics — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the date at the top will change.
